LA Erupts in Celebration as Dodgers Claim Second World Series Championship
The City of Angels experienced widespread celebrations after the Los Angeles Dodgers clinched a thrilling seven-game World Series title. Fans worldwide united with Angelenos in celebration, marking the initial time in a quarter-century that a franchise has achieved back-to-back championships.
Victory Parade Draws Massive Crowds
Los Angeles area celebrations featured a downtown parade on the morning of the parade, a ticketed rally at the team's home stadium, and spontaneous parties throughout the city.
Online footage show thousands of Los Angeles residents flooding downtown streets, many displaying handmade banners and team flags. The team was seen traveling proudly on a double-decker bus through the crowds, raising the championship trophy high.

The parade route concluded at the stadium, where the team emerged to Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” with DJ Mustard providing music and Ice Cube cruising a light blue vintage Cadillac around the stadium’s outfield.

Festivities began well before the parade, with supporters lighting flares in the streets of Downtown Los Angeles on Sunday night.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto, named the MVP of the championship, spoke directly about the victory.
“We refuse to lose,” he stated. “I adore this team. I love Los Angeles.”
Mixed Reactions and City Unity
In contrast, Mark Walter received a cooler reception at the rally. Video footage from the gathering seem to depict him taking the stage to a mix of cheers and boos, with jeers punctuating his address.
The championship acted as a bright spot in what has been a trying year for the city. An estimated quarter-million people showed up to the championship parade last year, and according to team member Freddie Freeman, fans this year demonstrated as much if not more enthusiasm.
“It seems it’s nearly twice from last year,” Freeman said. “The supporters are incredible. It’s so awesome to be a part of this.”
