Football Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the international hiatus, but can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against AI, fans and a range of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, the new release, is out on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit match the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My team was losing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am gearing up for the moment that my child or boy chooses to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, Madison and Albert, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I will not force football on our kids but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be managing their weekend football side," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He managed our team for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the next step for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Weekend, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues may have to be patient for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this fixture will be quite close, though. Burnley are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple games - albeit both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

The Hammers' only away win this campaign came at Forest in August, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their run under their manager, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I will go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a blip.

Sutton's prediction: 2-0

The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but West Ham have picked up under Nuno. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the favourites for relegation before the season began, but they have impressed a several observers under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four games.

My son told me to select Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.

Thiago will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am still not going to select him or support Brentford at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the road this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the break but I feel the home manager's side carry much more of a danger.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have have lots of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else disrupt the Gunners like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the end of October.

But I am not do that. Instead, I really need to carry on going against the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they evidently love to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's home form, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

Sutton's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor streak... but Fulham have nonetheless been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

This is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, but could they be among the teams who benefit from the {international break|
