Legal authorities report that a former doctor has been charged with committing assaults involving thirty-eight individuals who were patients.
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.
A deputy chief CPS official said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
These allegations follow what investigators described as a “detailed inquiry” into reported sexual offences at two hospitals: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
The defendant is scheduled to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.
