Battlefield 6 Battle Royale Goes Live Very Soon as a Free-to-Play Experience

Following months of anticipation, the battle royale game type for BF6 is at last launching. Recent rumors claiming its arrival would happen alongside the first season were spot-on. Players can dive into the gameplay starting very soon.

Season 1 Bringing a Brand-New Arena, Mode, and Guns

In tandem with the battle royale release, the new season is also starting. It brings a new map, a fresh game type, and an expanded arsenal. On top of that, the Redacted Sector is making its debut. A included trailer will become available at launch, offering fans a taste of what's to come.

Free-to-Play Model Allows Battle Royale Open to All

Possibly the most significant news is that Battlefield Redsec will be F2P. Similar to popular offerings, you do not need to buy the main title to join in. Some players have previously experienced early versions of the mode. These tests were conducted in a collaborative space, which the studio described as their largest community collaboration project.

The adrenaline rush when facing another squad can't be found in any other last-man-standing mode. It feels a true survival situation, and you genuinely worry if you live or perish.
Despite being a snob earlier, I'm fully a fan of the battle royale since trying it.

These first impressions from players have been overwhelmingly favorable. Naturally, the gameplay may have evolved over the past couple of months in terms of tuning and tempo. However, first impressions are promising that this new mode could be a genuine rival to popular offerings. Players are expecting that the top weapons from the main game will be available in the new mode.
